Job Openings Resource - Need assistance in finding job openings? Job Seekers have access to comprehensive job listings in local and national job banks. Job Specialist are also available to assist clients and provide referrals to local job openings. These employment services are provided through Job Service; use eCMATS to register for online services.

Rapid Response Resource - Need help when you lose your job because of lay off or closure?   Job Seekers who are unemployed as a result of a layoff and are receiving unemployment benefits may qualify for assistance through the Dislocated Worker Program.  Just click on Dislocated Worker Information for a wealth of self-directed information, from practical advice on working with creditors and budgeting to publications that can help you cope with the stress of a job change or layoff. Employment Resource - Need access to job search tools? Job Seekers have access to the computer resource lab in each center. The lab offers job assistant through internet access, telephones, copy/fax machines and other career resource materials.  The Career Center offers pre-job readiness information on resume writing, job search and interviewing skills through the computer lab and workshops.

 

Access to Employers Resource - Need a way to find employers who are hiring? Job Seekers benefit through the unique opportunity to access employers with job openings through local job fairs and hiring events at the centers as well as employer job listings and referrals. Job seekers can gain information about local employers to better prepare for interviews and the job search process.

 

Career Planning Resources - Need to explore your options for planning your career? The CareerOneStop website provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration is an excellent resource to explore your career opportunities; click here for a Career Resource Plan (career exploration, assessments).

Career Readiness Certificate "CRC" - Need a means to verify your skills to a employer? The Career Readiness Certificate utilizes the WorkKeys® assessment developed by ACT, Inc. The WorkKeys System measures a job seeker's skills to succeed in the business world of work. Whether you are looking for a job, or seeking a certificate to bolster your credentials, earning a Career Readiness Certificate gives you nationally recognized proof of your job skills.

 

GED Classes and Testing-Free - Need your GED? The GED Test offers adults who left school an opportunity to earn a high school credential. Free GED Classes are sponsored by the Division of Adult Education, Department of Labor and Workforce Development. 

 

Educational Resource - Need skill training in a demand occupation? Job Seekers who are unemployed and do not posses a degree in post secondary  training and or a certification in specific job skills may be considered a candidate for training through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). If a person is determined to be eligible for training in a demand occupation, then the training must be provided through a training provider listed on the Tennessee Eligible Training Provider List (LWIA1) .
